Manta Naturalist Course

SCHEDULE

 

 

Class Session One

 

  •  Saturday, October 15, 2016 - 9 a.m. to 12 noon

 

  • Location: Hawaiʻi Community College - Pālamanui

    • 73-4225 Ane Keohokalole Hwy

    • Kailua-Kona, HI  96740 

    • Room B-125

 

  • Includes: Introductions, instructor and guest speaker presentations, and directions for online learning and presentation. 

 

 

Guidelines for the week between classes

 

  • University of Hawaiʻi’s online learning management system is called Laulima.  The instructor will send you information so you can access this site.

  • By Sunday, October 16th, complete introduction post (10 points) in Laulima.

 

  • By Tuesday, October 18th, post a response to at least one classmate (10 points).

 

  • Course website is www.mantanaturalist.com.   Please read through Modules One, Two, and Three on this site.  This content directly corresponds to quizzes.

 

  • By Friday, October 20th, complete Quiz 1, 2, 3 (30 points each) in Laulima.

 

  • Throughout the week, prepare and practice Manta Naturalist presentation that you will deliver to the class on Saturday, October 22nd.

 

 

Class Session Two

 

  • Saturday, October 22nd - 9 a.m. to 12 noon

  • Location: Hawaiʻi Community College - Pālamanui

    • 73-4225 Ane Keohokalole Hwy

    • Kailua-Kona, HI  96740 

    • Room B-125

 

  • Deliver Manta Naturalist Presentation (60 points).

 

  • Complete Manta Naturalist Course Evaluation (30 points).

 

  • Certificates of Completion from Hawaiʻi Community College will be issued upon successful completion of course requirements.
